Dominican Republic the ADAO's experience O3

The deterioration of the living standard in the rual areas of the Dominican Republic has become increasingly worse. A resent study undertaken by »Mujeres en Desarrollo« (MUDE) indicates that 65% of pesant families live under extreme poverty.
The worsening of natural resources due to migratory agriculture, the cutting and burning of woods, the pollution of rivers as well as high cost of agricultural production all these things contribute to perpetrate this poverty.
With the foundation of the Dominican Association of Organic Agriculture (ADAO)., to make more effective the work of more than forty NGO's private and individual members of the ADAO, offer an economic, social and ecological alternative to this drama of rural development.
This report gathers the last few years of experience lived by the organisation that have come together to form a coordinating structure to demonstrate that the future of agriculture and rural development.
